Mostly portable apps and website backups (many files small size). Recently I decided to reorganize my Drive to allow for some of my data to be encrypted (using boxcryptor, but thats another story). So here I was moving around all sorts of files, combining other file systems into it, dragging and dropping documents before they were sync&#039;d in the first place, etc. I did it this way to see what Google Drive is and isn&#039;t able to handle (dont worry I backed up before I did this). <br /> <br /> ==My setup==<br /> This is not my main computer, its just one I threw together with best parts I could find laying around.<br /> *CPU: Core 2 Quad q6600<br /> *RAM: 3.5GB @ 667 DDR2<br /> *HDD: WD Black SATA 2 7200 (about 90MB/s write tested)<br /> *Network: 1000mbit direct to cable modems internal router<br /> *WAN: 50mbits download, 20mbits upload<br /> *Actual WAN: 36mbits down, 11mbits up<br /> *OS: Win 7 x64<br /> *Software: Google Drive PC app (all of this)<br /> <br /> ==Steps I took==<br /> #Deleted 49,948 (12.77GB) files from my Google Drive<br /> ##Status: Syncing 49,948 items<br /> #Copied 32,294 (4.9GB) back into my drive immediately<br /> ##Status: Unable to sync (in right click menu there is a ! at the top)<br /> #Before they were marked with the sync icon, I moved around 10,000 files into new directories on Google Drive<br /> ##Status: Syncing 10,000 items (really close to 10k, cant remember)<br /> #Created an encrypted section of my drive during this sync<br /> ##Status: Unable to sync<br /> #Put 13,375 items into my encrypted section of my drive using boxcryptor<br /> ##Status: Syncing 66 of 1188<br /> #Watched what happened<br /> ##Unable to sync (about 30 min passes)<br /> ##Syncing 1,299 of 6,737 (about 30 min passes)<br /> ##Unable to sync (15 min or so passes)<br /> ##Syncing 3,619 of 11,180 (20 min passes)<br /> ##Unable to sync (5 min or less passes)<br /> ##Syncing 7,551 of 43,710 (1 hour passed, still going though.)<br /> <br /> ==Conclusion==<br /> Just wait it out</div>
