The raspberry pi using the most recent Raspbian image will make the display turn off every 30 minutes by default if no input is detected. This is how to disable it:

  • edit the file /etc/kbd/config
sudo nano /etc/kbd/config
  • Locate: BLANK_TIME=30
    • Change value to 0
  • Locate: POWERDOWN_TIME=30
    • Change value to 0
