Girder comes standard with the plugin to be able to receive and send from the USB-UIRT infrared unit. This enables Girder to control any Infrared device, and also be able to receive any infrared signal and trigger a girder action. The USB-UIRT is simple to setup and use. The following steps help you test your USB-UIRT inside Girder.

Follow these steps to make USB-UIRT work with Girder

  • Plug in USB-UIRT to your computer
  • Install the USB-UIRT drivers:
  • Open Girder and open settings/preferences
    Girder USB-UIRT Action
  • Click 'Plugins' and you will see a list of available plugins (unchecked), and active plugins (checked). Find the USB-UIRT plugin and check it. Click OK.
  • Make a new spot for your USB-UIRT command in the Girder Interface. Select the action 'USB-UIRT Action' and lets set up a test signal
  • In the new action window, make sure the action is set to 'Transmit IR Command' and enter the following into the command field:
    • 0000 0072 0000 0021 0061 0021 0010 0011 0010 0011 0010 0021 0010 0021 0030 0021 0010 0011 0010 0011 0010 0011 0010 0011 0010 0011 0010 0011 0010 0011 0010 0011 0010 0011 0010 0011 0020 0011 0010 0011 0010 0011 0010 0021 0010 0011 0020 0011 0010 0021 0020 0021 0010 0011 0010 0011 0010 0011 0020 0021 0010 0011 0010 0011 0010 0011 0010 0011 0010 09CD
  • Click apply and close
  • Select your new action, and press f5 to test it. You should see the USB-UIRT blink (red light) for a second when the signal transmits.


Girder USB-UIRT Troubleshooting

  • Restart Girder
  • Unplug USB-UIRT and replug it in
  • Unload the USB-UIRT plugin and driver from windows and girder
  • Check you have the right driver
