These are a list of Text to speech programs that can be used from Windows Command Line (DOS).


Swifttalker - This program only comes with Cepstral voices, and allows for a simple GUI, or Command Line input for TTS.

Promixis Girder - This is a scripting program that allows the use of text to speech in various ways. For example it is possible to program text to speech and speech recognition dialogue with your computer. Very advanced tool, not for beginners.

2nd speech center - Shareware/Trial text to speech GUI and windows command line (ttscmd.exe) tool to convert text to speech. Many options, friendly interface.

ptts - freeware command line interface to SAPI 4 and 5. Very small utility, very lightweight.

Speak Aloud - Shareware/Trial - Command line and gui TTS, also allows for text to mp3 (and other formats)

textsound - shareware command line tts interface with GUI. Allows for batch conversions of text to mp3/wav/etc
